For many years quarries have been extracting huge quantities of limestone, gritstone and vein minerals from the surface of the Peak District National Park. Their numbers have diminished in recent years for various reasons, with some sites now remaining dormant.
These photographs were taken years ago when production was high. I plan to return in the near future to see what’s happening now.
